3×3 Teams Ready for Americup Challenge

The fourth edition of the FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup will return to the vibrant city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, from December 12-15, 2024. This prestigious tournament showcases the best of 3×3 basketball in the Americas.

This tournament offers an opportunity for every national federation from the Americas including Jamaica to showcase their talent, with both men’s and women’s teams invited to participate.

The action runs from December 12-15 and games can be watched live on the FIBA 3×3 YouTube page.

There are a whopping 34 teams journeying to San Juan, Puerto Rico – 19 in the men’s and 15 in the women’s; both categories will have competitive Jamaican squads.

Jamaica’s men is drawn alongside Cuba, St Kitts and Nevis and Trinidad & Tobago in Group B of the qualifying rounds and to determine the winner who will advance to Pool C with powerhouses Canada and Argentina on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Jamaican women are already placed in Pool B, alongside number 2 ranked Canada and number 7 ranked Mexico.

Women squad: Crystal Primm, Tiffany Reynolds, Tashawna Higgins and Sasha Dixon

Last year, Puerto Rico men’s team claimed their first trophy, while the USA women’s team successfully defended their title.
