Eagles Crush Wizards in Historic Win

In a stunning display, the Upper Room Eagles defeated the Tivoli Wizards 117-40 in yesterday's @nbljamaica game. A whopping 77 points!! Shaquille Allen led with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while D’Andre Forbes added 16 points and 5 blocks. Kimary Brown was the only bright spot for the Wizards, scoring 20 points.

In the second match of the National Basketball Lea

In the second match of the National Basketball League schedule on Saturday night, March 1, the Central Celtics took on the league leaders, Portmore Flames, at the National Stadium courts. Despite a valiant effort from two Celtics players who registered double-digit scoring affairs, Flames prevailed in a hard-fought game, winning 58-48.

Marlon Gordon was a standout for the Celtics, posting 14 points and ten rebounds. Kevauni Marston also made a significant impact, contributing 13 points, six rebounds, and two steals.

It was Flames' strong performance in the first, second, and fourth quarters, which proved too much for the Celtics to overcome. The Flames outscored the Celtics by nine points in the fourth quarter, securing their victory and extending their winning streak.

Kenardo Smith led the charge for Portmore with 19 points and eight rebounds. Aguaie Ferguson added 12 points and four rebounds, while Daniel Segree chipped in with 10 points. Both Smith and Segree recorded three steals each, showcasing their defensive prowess.

The National Stadium courts hosted an electrifying game on Saturday, March 1, as last season's beaten finalists, Upper Room Eagles, went head-to-head with the Montego Bay Boys Club Warriors. The Eagles showed their dominance throughout the match, leading all quarters with scores of 22-13, 22-16, 18-14, and 19-16.

Tadre Dickens was the standout player, scoring a game-high of 22 points. Lebron Lewinson also put in a stellar performance with 18 points and 7 rebounds. On the Warriors' side, Hubert Rodney and Brendon Dawkins tried to keep their team in contention with 17 and 15 points, respectively. However, the absence of a few key players significantly impacted the Warriors' performance.

The final score was 81-59 in favor of the Eagles, propelling them to second place in the standings while the Warriors remain in sixth.
