Nick Richards to Coach at Basketball Without Borders Americas
The NBA and FIBA have announced that Hornets’ center Nick Richards and assistant coach Marlon Garnett will coach at the 13th Basketball Without Borders Americas edition in São Paulo, Brazil, from May 17-20. The camp will host 60 high school-age prospects from 17 countries and territories across Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Jamaica will have two representatives at the 13th edition of the camp, Marcus McDonald and Antoine Daye.
Richards, hailing from Jamaica, and Garnett, an ex-member of the Belize national team, will guide the campers through a series of activities, including skill stations for offense and defense, 5-on-5 games, and sessions on life skills and leadership development. Since 2001, Basketball Without Borders has served as a global basketball development and community outreach program by the NBA and FIBA, involving over 4,300 participants from 140 countries and territories.
The camp is anticipated to have a significant impact on the upcoming basketball talents.
