Caen Basket Calvados (NM1) has secured the service

Caen Basket Calvados (NM1) has secured the services of 30-year-old Jamaican 🇯🇲 power forward Kentan Facey for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Facey will continue his basketball journey in France, where he previously excelled as the top rebounde at Union Poitiers Basket 86.

During his 29 ProB games at Poitiers, he averaged 8.8 points per game (ppg) and 5.4 rebounds per game (rpg). His contributions helped propel Poitiers to the French ProB Leaders Cup Semifinals.

Having graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2017, Facey is now entering his eighth season as a professional player.🏀

BK Iskra Svit (Nike SBL) has agreed terms with Jam

BK Iskra Svit (Nike SBL) has agreed terms with Jamaican forward Jordan Kellier (6" 4"- 220lbs) for the upcoming 2024-25 season. He is the second foreign player to sign a contract. Kellier recently graduated from West Chester Golden Rams (NCAA2), where he averaged 12.8ppg, 10.7rpg, 2.6apg, and 1.1spg in 30 games last season. This is his first gig as a pro.

"I've done my research on the club. I watched a lot of their games from last season. My expectations and goals are simple, to win games, to learn as much as I can from my coaches and teammates and to be the best version of myself on and off the court," Kellier said enthusiastically after signing the contract.

He was voted to All-PSAC East Division Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. Kellier played for other colleges such as Siena College, University of Utah, and Williston State College.

The Shoot Hoops, Not Guns Social Intervention Programme is a collaborative effort involving the Jamaica Basketball Association, the Ministry of National Security, and the USAID.

This initiative aims to address gun violence by engaging youth in basketball🏀 as a positive outlet along with other disciplines, namely robotics and animation.🤖
